Fukuoka Airport

8 min read

It would be nice to relax in a lounge while waiting for your flight, right? But if you don’t know where Fukuoka Airport’s lounges are or what services they offer, it’s hard to decide whether to use one.

This article introduces the 7 lounges at Fukuoka Airport. For those who have never used a lounge before, we’ll also cover the types of lounges and how to use them, so please read to the end.

Overview of Fukuoka Airport’s Lounges

Fukuoka Airport has two terminals — domestic and international — with a total of 7 lounges.

All the international lounges are located on the 3rd floor after passport control, while the domestic lounges are available both before and after check-in, so be sure to make use of them.

Since the usage conditions differ for each lounge, let’s start by explaining the types of lounges.

Types of Lounges at Fukuoka Airport and How to Use Them

Not just at Fukuoka Airport, but airport lounges generally fall into three categories.

  1. Airline lounges
  2. Card lounges
  3. General/paid lounges

If you’re new to using lounges, check this section too.

1. Airline Lounges

As the name suggests, airline lounges are each operated by an airline.

They can only be used by passengers who have upgraded to business class or above, or airline members who meet certain status requirements.

Basically, only passengers flying with that particular airline can use them.

2. Card Lounges

Card lounges can be used by holders of certain credit cards. They are mainly intended for gold card holders and above, or holders of airline-branded cards.

To use one, you’ll need to present the applicable credit card along with your boarding pass. Make sure not to forget your card.

3. General/Paid Lounges

General/paid lounges can be used by anyone who pays a fee. Some card lounges also allow the general public to enter for a fee, so they can be used even if you’re traveling with someone who doesn’t have a qualifying card.

Lounges at Fukuoka Airport’s International Terminal

The international terminal has three lounges.

  1. KAL Lounge
  2. Lounge Fukuoka
  3. Lounge TIME

Since each has different operating hours and usage conditions, be sure to check the details below.

The KAL Lounge is operated by Korean Air. Please note that it is closed outside of Korean Air’s flight time windows.

It can be used by Korean Air First Class and Prestige Class passengers, as well as SkyTeam members who meet certain conditions. A benefit is that Priority Pass holders can use it for free for up to 2 people.

Drinks including alcohol, as well as light snacks, are available. With only 32 seats, it’s fairly compact, so it may get crowded close to departure time.

The interior is divided into three areas.

  • Dining area
  • Relaxation area

You can choose the area that suits your needs, whether enjoying a leisurely meal or focusing on work.

Drinks including alcohol, as well as light snacks and bread, are available, making it a great option for those who want to eat before their flight.
