The Complete Guide to Narita Airport Parking: How to Choose, Rates, Reservations, and Facilities
10 min read
Driving is incredibly convenient compared to public transportation like trains and buses, since you’re not bound by a schedule and can travel door-to-door.
However, the roads around the airport are off-limits for stopping or parking, except to drop off or pick up passengers. Even if you’re only there for a quick pickup or drop-off, you may need to use a parking lot if the timing doesn’t work out.
Narita Airport has multiple parking lots, so many people aren’t sure which one to use.
This article serves as a complete guide to Narita Airport parking, covering how to choose a lot, rates, reservations, and facilities. If you’re planning to drive to Narita Airport, be sure to use this as a reference.
How to Choose a Parking Lot at Narita Airport
Narita Airport is divided into three terminals. There are also four parking lots, so choose the one at the terminal used by your airline.
| Narita Airport | Parking Lot | Airlines Arriving |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal 1 | P1 / P5 | ・SkyTeam (Delta Air Lines, Air France, Korean Air, China Airlines, etc.) ・Star Alliance (ANA, United Airlines, Lufthansa, EVA Air, etc.) |
| Terminal 2 | P2 / P3 | ・oneworld (JAL, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qantas, etc.) |
| Terminal 3 | P2 / P3 | ・LCCs (Jetstar, Spring Airlines, Jeju Air, etc.) |
There are four parking lots — P1, P2, P3, and P5 — and no P4 lot. Also, since Terminal 3 can’t be accessed directly from the P2 or P3 parking lots, you’ll need to go via Terminal 2.
Note that if the parking lot at your terminal is full, waiting in line could leave you stuck for a long time. If a parking lot at another terminal has open spaces, it’s safer to park there instead.
You can travel between terminals by free shuttle bus. Travel times and frequencies are as follows.
| Travel Time | Frequency | |
|---|---|---|
| Between Terminal 1 and 2 | 10 minutes | Every 5–10 minutes |
| Between Terminal 2 and 3 | 3–6 minutes | Every 3–7 minutes |
| Between Terminal 3 and 1 | 14 minutes | Every 3–7 minutes |
You can also walk between Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 via the access corridor.

NearMe Is Also a Great Option for Getting to Narita Airport
Narita Airport parking lots tend to fill up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays, so if you can’t get a reservation, you may have trouble parking smoothly.
That’s why we recommend the shared-ride taxi service NearMe. You can relax in a spacious vehicle like a Hiace or Alphard and travel door-to-door to Narita Airport.
Just like a regular taxi, it’s available 24 hours a day whenever you need it, but it’s far more affordable than a taxi. It’s also fully reservation-based with online payment, making pickup and drop-off smooth and hassle-free.
Rates vary by area, as shown in the table below. The first suitcase is free, and each additional suitcase costs an extra ¥1,000.
| Area | Adult Fare/Person | Fixed-Rate Airport Taxi (Reference Price) *Some metered fares |
|---|---|---|
| Funabashi City | from ¥4,980 | ¥14,600–¥17,500 |
| Edogawa, Koto, Sumida, Katsushika wards | from ¥5,980 | ¥19,000–¥21,000 |
| Urayasu, Ichikawa cities | from ¥5,980 | ¥19,900–¥20,500 |
| Chiyoda, Taito, Chuo, Bunkyo, Adachi, Arakawa wards | from ¥5,980 | ¥23,000–¥26,000 |

| Setagaya, Nakano, Suginami, Itabashi, Nerima wards, Musashino, Mitaka cities | from ¥6,980 | ¥27,000–¥31,000 |
On the NearMe official website, you can enter your pickup location, date and time, number of passengers, and luggage count to check fares, travel time, and routes. Be sure to take a look.
For reference, a fixed-rate airport taxi from Chiyoda ward (Tokyo Station) to Narita Airport costs ¥23,000. Adding the ¥3,650 highway toll brings the total to ¥26,650.
With NearMe, there are no highway tolls to worry about, and at from ¥5,980 per person, you get comfortable door-to-door service for less than a quarter of the taxi fare.
Comparing standard vehicle parking rates as well, if you’d be parking for more than 51 hours (2 days and 3 hours) at P1 or P2, or more than 73.5 hours (3 days and 1.5 hours) at P3 or P5, NearMe works out cheaper.
Summary
We’ve covered how to choose a parking lot at Narita Airport, along with rates, reservations, and facilities.
Narita Airport’s parking lots can fill up, especially on weekends and holidays. If all four official parking lots happen to be full, you’ll have to wait in line for a long time or look for a private parking lot near the airport.
If you can’t secure a parking reservation, we recommend using NearMe (official website).
You can travel door-to-door whenever you like, at a much more reasonable rate than a taxi. If you can’t get a parking reservation, rather than worrying about full lots, be sure to give NearMe a try.
