What You Can Enjoy at Izumi Tenkunoyu Haneda Airport

Source: Izumi Tenkunoyu Haneda Airport

Izumi Tenkunoyu has a variety of appeals that make the most of its location near Haneda Airport.

  • Open-air bath
  • Sauna
  • Rock-bath sauna (ganbanyoku)
  • Dining

Let’s take a closer look at each.

Open-Air Bath | Views of Planes and Mt. Fuji

One of the appeals of Izumi Tenkunoyu is the view from the open-air bath. From the men’s bath, “Ginyoku no Yu” (Silver Wings Bath), you can enjoy planes flying in and out of Haneda Airport, while from the women’s bath, “Fujimi no Yu” (Mt. Fuji View Bath), you can enjoy a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji.

Each open-air bath also has a reclining bath area, letting you relax at ease while taking in the view. Since there are no tall buildings blocking the surroundings, you can enjoy an open, expansive atmosphere overlooking the Tama River and the airport.

Sauna | Two Types: Dry Sauna and Herbal Steam Sauna

Izumi Tenkunoyu has two types of saunas: a dry sauna and an herbal steam sauna.

The dry sauna is a clean, white-toned space where you can expect strong circulation-boosting effects even in a short time. With automatic löyly every 10–15 minutes, a cold plunge bath, and outdoor bathing where you can feel the sea breeze, it’s a popular environment even among sauna enthusiasts.

The herbal steam sauna runs at a lower temperature than the dry sauna, allowing you to warm your body slowly and thoroughly. The herbal blend changes weekly, so you can enjoy the aroma while warming up.

Rock-Bath Sauna | Four Full Areas

The rock-bath sauna is shared by men and women and has four areas.

  • Black Germanium: relaxing effect from negative ions
  • Lava Rock: warms the body from the core with far-infrared effects
  • Rock Salt: helps prevent skin trouble
  • Cool Zone: a rest area where you can cool down after warming up

After sweating it out in the hot spring, head to the rock-bath sauna to warm your body from the core. Each area has a different atmosphere and refreshing effect, so you won’t get bored.

Dining | While Taking in the Sky View

At the 24-hour dining spot “Izumi Tenku,” you can enjoy Japanese cuisine while taking in views of Mt. Fuji and the Tama River.

There’s plenty of hearty food available too, such as a set meal with sanmoto pork loin cutlet, tuna marinated rice bowl, and clam-based shio ramen. There are also dishes perfect for pairing with a drink, like grilled sausage on the bone, dashi-rolled egg, and octopus with wasabi — so after a bath, why not enjoy a drink while taking in the spectacular view?

Came to Izumi Tenkunoyu, the spa at Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Haneda Airport. It’s a pretty high-end spa, but the experience was top-notch! Great location, and the open-air bath with a view of planes is the best. The facilities are all spotless, and there’s a rock-bath sauna too — really great. Had two beers and I was fully satisfied. pic.twitter.com/iQ5zypQjWt

After arriving at Haneda Airport, I went to Izumi Tenkunoyu, the hot spring directly connected to Terminal 3! It’s open 24 hours, so it was perfect for refreshing after a flight 🙂 That said, it cost ¥4,800 plus a ¥4,000 late-night fee, for a total of ¥8,800. Terrifyingly expensive 😅 Also, you can’t bring your suitcase in, so you have to leave it in a coin locker. pic.twitter.com/YaTTAY0H3z
